Event Description

Please help us raise funds for 17-24-30 NationalHCAW

Each year we organise and faciltate thre April Acts of Remembrance #AAR to mark the anniversaries of the three London nail bomb attacks on Brixton, Brick Lane and Soho.

This year is the 20th anniversary of these attacks so we have set up this Sponsor Me page to facilitate donations.

          £15 covers food and refreshments for one of our weekly volunteer sessions.

          £25 covers volunteer travel expenses for one of our weekly volunteer sessions (5 volunteers).

         £100 cover the costs of our annual software licenses.

         £150 covers the costs of Hootsuite enabling us to run our annual H.O.P.E. social media campaign

         £250 covers the cost of production of 10,000 double-sided hate crime reporting cards to encourage reporting.

         £300 covers the annual costs of running our national website www.nationalhcaw.uk

         £400 covers the annual costs of insurance.

         £500 covers the cost of production of 10,000 A4 Tri-fold leaflets to promote hate crime awareness.


Volunteer Recruitment Event on the 9th April

Meet at St Anne's Church, Dean Street, Soho at 6 pm.

We are looking to recruite a team of 20+ volunteers to help us deliver this years Acts of Remembrance, and hopefully stick with us to assist with the delivery of National Hate Crime Awareness Week 2019.

Brixton Remembers 17-24-30 on the 17th April

Meet at the side of the Iceland Store for 6 pm

We will meet at 6pm, light three candles representing the three communities that were attacked, hand out information and talk to people about what happened. A poem with be read by Trudy Howson and a minutes silence will be held at 6.30 pm. People may go for a drink together afterwards.

Brick Lane Remembers 17-24-30 on the 24th April

Meet opposite Weavers Ward SNT Police Office on 40 Brick Lane for 6 pm.

We will meet at 6 pm, light three candles representing the three communities that were attacked, hand out information and talk to people about what happened. A poem will be read by Trudy Howson and a minutes silence will be held at 6.30 pm. People may go for a meal together afterwards.

Admiral Duncan Fundraiser for 17-24-30 on the 27th April

Meet at the Admiral Duncan from 6 pm

There will be performances by Son Ofa Tutu at 7 pm, Crystal d'Canter at 8 pm, Lola Lasagne at 9 pm and Wilma Ballsdrop at 10.30 pm.

 

Soho Remembers 17-24-30 on the 30th April

Gathering in Admiral Duncan (Old Compton Street) from 5 pm

At 6.10 pm there will be a parade/walk round to St Anne's Gardens on Wardour Street for the annual service in the gardens. There will be a couple of speeches, songs sung by the London Gay Men's Chorus, Pink Singers and Diversity Choir, a poem by Trudy Howson, a poem read by the Moore family. The gardens will remain open for a while for people to pay their respects.

There will be entertainment at the Admiral Duncan afterwards.

Donations are welcome

17-24-30 exists to promote HOPE across the UK. HOPE stands for Hate crime awareness, Operational response to hate crime, Preventing hate crime and Empowering communities to report hate crime and access victim support services.

Funds raised will be used to cover the costs of running 17-24-30 ensuring that we can continue to deliver the April Acts of Remembrance, our annual HOPE Campaign and National Hate Crime Awarenss Week in October. We have a small team of volunteers who meet up every Tuesday afternoon to organise and facilitate our projects.
