60th birthday: six months of swims: April - Oct 2019
I marked becoming 60 this year by doing some swim journeys or clusters of swims in different parts of East Anglia, ideally meeting up with other local swimmers or joining in if they are already meeting.
I was reliving the adventure and solidarity I felt when doing my 2016 swim journeys https://www.imogensriverswims.co.uk/blog/imogens-a12-swim-journey-june-2016-i-did-it/, which I did to remember my parents a year on and raise money for charities relevant to the ends of their lives. And perhaps you might like to sponsor me this year for the same charities, four years on.
I made a start by joining a trip of Norfolk swimmers to the Ponds and lidos of North London early in April. https://www.imogensriverswims.co.uk/blog/london-ponds-lidos-april-2019-6-months-of-swims-for-60th/
I then did a swim on 18 April, 5:30 pm, Anderson's Meadow, Norwich https://www.imogensriverswims.co.uk/blog/norwich-18-april-2019-6-months-of-swims-for-60th/
I then did a collection of 10 swims in Norfolk in late April/early May.
Then Cambridgeshire: 4 days of swims over the bank holiday, 21 in total.
Essex swims (18) in mid June completed.
Also done 20 swims in Lincs, Rutland and Fens in July.
Completed the middle counties - Herts, Beds, and just into Northants August 9-12
Doing Suffolk over two weekends 7-8 and 21-22 Sept
Final swim trek completed, Breckland 4-7 October.
During all these journeys I did 136 swims or dips, 131 in East Anglia and Eastern England.
