Martin O'Shea a friend and colleague, was diagnosed with Motor Neurones Disease in early October 2012 and due to the aggressive strain of the disease his quality of life has already suffered.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a rapidly progressive, fatal disease that can affect any adult at any time. it affects around 5,000 people in this country (England) at any one time and in the UK at least five people a day die from MND.
Martin being Martin, in thinking of others, is keen to raise funds and awareness of MND, to help raise its profile and help assist research into future care.
What I would like to do is help Martin in this worthy cause by riding in two organised cycle events on consecutive Sundays in April. The first being The Hell of the North Cotswolds on 14th April which is a 50 or 100km mostly off road route -I'll be riding the 100km route (www.HONC.org.uk) and the second The White Horse Challenge on the 21st April is a 150km sportive, the route takes in hillside white horses at Broad Town, Cherhill, Hackpen and Uffington and passes through Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you feel you can contribute by sponsoring me I will be most grateful
