The 3 Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland. It's physically and mentally demanding and importantly requires a support team of drivers, caterers and motivators to make it work.
In 2007 a group of 5 walkers and 1 driver (all Costa employees) set off on the inaugural Costa Three Peaks challenge which has since been emulated every year. However, 2015 saw the number of Costa employees participating grow to 134 and the fundraising achieved grow to in excess of £50,000.
Anyone from Costa can participate, from Managing Director to Barista, but the 2 things that are essential are fitness and a willingness to raise a substantial amount of money for the Costa Foundation.
2016 will be the 10th anniversary of the Costa 3 Peaks Challenge, but this year the target for fundraising is the highest ever. The aim is to raise sufficient money to build a school in a coffee growing community that truly needs it. To achieve this goal, in excess of 30 teams have signed up to take on this tremendous challenge.
